More German, bitte!
According to the magazine ”Språk” (Language) the interest for language studies is on the rise in Sweden. At colleges and universities, the number of accepted students of modern languages (today in Sweden that means German, French, and Spanish) has increased with 15% over the past five years. This according to statistics from Universitets- och högskolerådet (the Swedish Council for Higher Education). Most popular is German, where the number of accepted students was 30% higher in 2013 than in 2009. Quite a trend shift for Sweden where the interest in studying German was constantly on the decline for many years.
